RPM Meeting - 5/07

The 5/07 RPM Meeting had another large turnout for such a fine spring day. There was some nice cars on the table especially Scott's Ferrari which I've been waiting to see. Several more of the Mustang Modified's were also on-hand for unveiling. This was the last meeting before the GMONNL so much of the meeting revolved around plans to make this NNL better than the last.

RPM Meeting - 4/07

The 4/07 RPM meeting was my first meeting as President and had a wonderful turnout despite the fantastic weather outside. It was standing room only. There was a great assortment of models on the table including drag racing, F1, modified, Nascar, Panamericana, and even watercraft. Keep up the great work guys!

NNL (Milwaukee, WI) - 2007

This year's Milwaukee NNL had the theme Hot, Hot, Hot! - everything with flames. There was a good representation of hot cars on the table. Even though Clint William's Firebird had a flame-out the night before and refused to light, we've seen it work and it will be back at our NNL! There was a total of 630 cars on the table by AMG's count. A nice outing that I intend to make each year.

RPM Meeting - 3/07

The 3/07 RPM meeting kicked off the first views of the Mustang Modifieds from our club contest build. This meeting also had a change in leadership for the President and Vice-President roles. Bill Halvorsen showed his stuff by displaying a Chevelle work-in-progress.

RPM Meeting - 2/07

The 2/07 meeting of the RPM Group brought a new dynamic to the club. We had an informative meeting and learned some new techniques. Tim Graf gave us a wonderful demonstration on making headers out of solder and Clint Williams followed him with another great demonstration of creating injector stacks out of aluminum tubing. We also some some very nice builds on the table including our first white elephant kit done very nicely by Chris Vick.

The Hope It Don't Snow Show (Stewartville, MN) - 2/07

The Hope It Don't Snow Show that is held each year just south of Rochester has turned into quite an event not to be missed. It has grown to double the size it was when I attended just 2 years ago. It is brought together by the Zumbro Valley Scale Modelers and they have done a wonderful job of balancing a plethora of categories within this venue. I was lucky enough to be a judge (in the automotive section) and found some very nice builds.

RPM Meeting - 1/07

The 1/07 meeting of the RPM Group had no specific theme. It was a nice sized turnout at a temporary venue. We had a good number of models on the table for review and there was much discussion about the upcoming GMONNL and the R5 for 2008. Watch the website for more details as they develop.

RPM Meeting (White Elephant Gift Exchange) - 12/06

The 12/06 meeting of the RPM Group was our white elephant gift exchange. Each of the members was asked to bring a wrapped model kit for a numbered raffle. When your number is up, you pick a wrapped present and open it or you can steal from another that has already opened one. Looting from other members is highly encouraged. A good time was had by all 32 members that were at the meeting. Happy Holidays!

RPM Meeting (Club Contest) - 11/06

The 11/06 meeting of the RPM Group was our club contest. All entries must have been built within the last 12 months (since the last club contest). We had a excellent turnout of existing members, new members and guests. The quality of the models on the table continues to rise each month and the club contest seems to be the pinnacle of the year. Congratulations to each of the winners.

RPM Meeting (Out of the Closet) - 10/06

The 10/06 meeting of the RPM Group is known as the "Out of the Closet" meeting because we encourage each member to bring models that they have finished that do not meet the normal racing criteria that is promoted at the other meetings throughout the year. In 2006, we had a record turnout of models on the review table and a large gathering of members and guests.

NNL Nationals (Toledo, Ohio) - 2006

The NNL Nationals in Toledo was a memorable trip for many reasons. The show was fantastic with almost 1,000 models! The swap was combined with a local toy show, so it was the size of a small warehouse. Here are some of the reviews: "So good I almost p!ssed my pants" - Ted, "The only thing that would have made it better was if I had found a gun" - Bob

Nordicon (St. Paul, MN) - 2006

Nordicon is an annual event that is sponsored by the Twin City Aero Historians (www.aerohistorians.org). It has been mainly aircraft and armor in the past, but this year our club and fellow car builders invaded like it was Normandy. Our car count rivaled that of the armor categories. Quite an impressive turnout.

NNL (Milwaukee, WI) - 2006

The NNL Milwaukee was my initiation into the traveling freak show that is model builders on the road. The locals took us to every hobby shop with 25 miles and they all had the same mysterious smell. We scored some great finds and Bob dubbed me the King of the Swaps for my 22-kit purchase. The show was incredible with the best dioramas that I have seen. Definately worth a return trip.
